One of the more contentious issues upon the breakdown of a common law or marriage relationship is that of spousal support.

Often a court will order that spousal support in a certain sum be paid for a period of time, either “until further order of the court” or with a “review” some time in the future.  In her most recent blog post, Janette Kovacs discusses the difference between these two phrases and the impact their use will have on applications to vary a spousal support order.
