David Sliman is an Associate Counsel in our Litigation Group acting in the area of civil litigation with an emphasis on estate litigation.
Dave is the founding partner of Waterstone Law Group LLP. On January 1st, 2026 after 38 years of practice, Dave changed his designation from “Partner” to “Associate Counsel”.
Dave has extensive experience as a litigator having appeared in all levels of courts in B.C. (Provincial, Supreme and Court of Appeal) and before administrative tribunals.
Dave is currently a member and former director of The Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia. He is a past member of The Canadian Bar Association, The American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America), the Fraser Valley Brain Injury Association and the B.C. Brain Injury Association.
Dave was born in Vancouver, B.C. and raised in Chilliwack. He obtained both his B.A. and LLB. from the University of British Columbia. He was called to the Bar in May of 1998. After some years of practicing in Vancouver, Dave returned to Chilliwack in 1991 where he eventually founded the firm that became Waterstone Law Group LLP.
Community involvement is an important part of Dave’s life. He is currently a member and past president of the Chilliwack Mt. Cheam Rotary Club. He has also sat on the boards of many non-profit organization in his area.
Dave and his wife Colleen live in the Ryder Lake Area of Chilliwack, where he enjoys his children and grand-children as well as: woodworking, hiking, golf, the English Premier League (Arsenal) and, much to Colleen’s chagrin, secretly adding to his extensive book collection.
