Nick is a civil litigator out of Waterstone Law Group’s Chilliwack office, with a broad practice spanning family law, estate litigation, personal injury matters, and general civil disputes.

In family law, Nick handles high-value and complex property disputes—business interests, corporate holdings, pensions, excluded property, and tracing—alongside parenting, support, and protection orders.

In estate matters, Nick acts for beneficiaries and executors in disputes involving wills variation, abuse of powers of attorney, mismanagement of estate assets, and claims against trustees who have failed in their duties. Many of these files involve vulnerable people and require both sensitivity and a willingness to hold the responsible parties to account.

Whether the file involves a family dispute, an estate, a personal injury claim, or a commercial disagreement, the approach is the same. Nick communicates clearly, prepares meticulously, and brings a practical, creative approach to solving problems. He looks past the surface of a dispute to what is actually driving it—the history, the people, the priorities. He is measured, calm, and cares deeply about the people he represents.

Nick also practises as a mediator. His litigation background gives him a practical understanding of what court demands of the people who go through it—the cost, the time, the uncertainty, the loss of control—and that perspective helps parties find resolutions on their own terms. He believes most disputes can be resolved without trial, and that the outcomes reached through mediation are often more durable than the ones imposed by a court.

Nick is a former President of the Chilliwack and District Bar Association and a former Director of the Ann Davis Transition Society. He has extensive experience at all levels of court in British Columbia and appears regularly in both Provincial Court and the Supreme Court. He holds an LLB (Distinction) from the University of Birmingham, where he finished in the top 1% of his class, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English Literature and Psychology from the University of the Fraser Valley.

When he’s not working, Nick is usually in the mountains—skiing or hiking, playing tennis, or on a bike. He reads widely and likes to travel to places that feel wild and remote. He lives in Chilliwack with his wife, Kim, and their Labrador Retriever puppy, Gary.
