Legal Assistant – Conveyancing / Lending (Chilliwack)

We are currently seeking a Legal Assistant to join the conveyancing & lending teams in our Chilliwack office. This is a full-time, in-person role that calls for an individual with energy, enthusiasm, and a sharp eye for detail.  Conveyancing and/or lending experience in a British Columbia law firm is required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of conveyancing/lending files, including conducting due diligence searches, drafting security documents, funding transactions and reporting to the client
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines with excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Interacting with management, legal assistants, paralegals, lawyers, and clients
  • Document production and assembly, file and calendar management and maintenance

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of legal assistant experience in British Columbia
  • Experience in the areas of conveyancing and/or commercial lending
  • Legal Administrative Assistant certification from an accredited institution
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and document management)
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage time efficiently
  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly dependable, and adaptable with a great work ethic and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Compensation:

$55,000 – $65,000 depending on experience.
